FAQs

Are there different qualities of granite?

Yes, there are first quality and commercial grade. Commercial grades have more fissures and discolorations. Natural Stone City uses only first quality granite.

Are there going to be seams at every angle in my kitchen?

We try to give our customers the cleanest look with the fewest amount of seams possible. In most cases, your kitchen will have one subtle seam at the sink where the surface area is smallest.

How does colour levels effect price levels?

Both granite and Quartz are separated into various categories based on colours: from base level patterns to unique exotic granite selections. The combination of colour and movement affects the final price of the granite or quartz slab.

Will adding granite or quartz countertops increase the value of my home?

Yes! Experts say that whatever improvements you do in your kitchen you will get back at the time you sell your home. In real estate, new modern countertops are a “hot button” with prospective buyers.

Care and Maintenance

  • For every day cleaning use a soft sponge or dishcloth with warm water.

  • For stubborn or greasy clean-ups use a gentle liquid cleaner.

  • Always clean up spills as soon as you notice them.

  • Avoid using cleaning products with strong acidity, particularly citrus or lemon-based cleaners as these could eat away at the sealant and damage or change the color of the quartz surface.

  • Do not let any liquids or oils remain on counters overnight.

  • Be sure to use coasters and placemats when placing hot cookware on both granite and quartz surfaces. Use trivets, coasters, placemats and adhesive felt pads to help prevent scratches.

  • We recommend sealing granite countertops every year. If you cook frequently in your kitchen and use the countertops daily, you might need to reseal the granite even more frequently.
